Hello everybody. I have been away for awhile but I am back on my feet again and more determined than ever to keep my self healthy enough to get on the Transplant list at the Temple Lung Center in Philadelphia.
Temple has one of the best transplant programs in the country. There are many good transplant centers in the United States but Temple is a perfect fit for me. When the call comes time is very important. I am about 90 minutes away and that just about the perfect distance.
I had some procedures done today and spoke with some transplant recipients from Temple and they all told me the same thing. It's a long difficult road but keep the faith because it will work out in the end. Unfortunately this all comes at a very high price. Traveling, lodging, co-pays,out of pocket insurance amounts to meet, and the big one is post transplant medications.
They are required for the rest of my life and cost thousands of dollars a month. That is why I teamed up with Help Hope Live. This gives me the chance to get the word out to thousands who may not know me but maybe have experienced a positive outcome due to Help Hope Live or have been effected by the loss of a friend who didn't get a organ donor in time and want to help.
Going through Help Hope Live you can be assured that If I don't receive a donor in time the money we all raise together will help somebody else who needs a transplant. Over the last 12 to 14 months I have made some changes in my life. I knew there had to be something out there to help me boost my spirits and look at life in a more positive way. For me that turned out to be my faith in God.
Through the help of some wonderful people I was directed to LCBC. LCBC is a non denominational church with several locations and hundreds and hundreds of wonderful people. I am asking you to help with any financial assistance you can offer me. No amount is to small. A 1 time contribution or a monthly contribution. Every single dollar will help. Thanks to all of you that have had me in your prayers. There is much power in prayer. God bless you all. Not just the people that donate but the people that take the time to read this and share it with there friends. Sincerely Roy P Hackman.

Hello Friends, Family, and supporters. I just wanted to let all of you know That we are going to start fundraising once again. I spoke with my contact at HelpHopeLive today and she said it is not uncommon for patients to be taken off the transplant list and have to go to another facility. There are many reasons for this. Losing your support group, having to deal with another illness, or maybe just exercise and get stronger so you can can handle the surgery. Some Hospitals have much stricter policies on whether you qualify or not. And some are a little more forgiving. She made a few suggestion of other places in the area that do Lung and Liver transplants. She did not try to direct me to any specific facility she just mentioned a few as examples. She also told me something I didn't know. Any money raised here can be used to pay for a Care giver. That will solve my support team issue. So hopefully in the very near future we will have some fundraisers set up. please pass this along.I am going to call 2 other Hospitals tomorrow and see when I can get started with my evaluation. Once again thank you all for your helping me move into my apartment and all the wonderful gifts. Its time for me to stop dwelling on the negative and move forward. God Bless you all. Sincerely Roy P Hackman
