Since December, Shannon has struggled greatly. Though her new lungs are strong and compatible, new complications have arisen. Shannon has been hospitalized since mid-January. In February, she had to undergo open-heart surgery. Her recovery has been slow but steady. We hope that Shannon will be able to return home in April. Thank you for your continued prayers and well wishes. They are so needed!

On June 29, Shannon received a double lung transplant. It was truly a miracle. Just a week before, Shannon's doctors had told her that they did not expect to be able to find a match for her. They were in the process of referring her to another hospital to join a second list. Hope was scarce and Shannon's strength was failing fast.
When Shannon received the call, she, Will, and Mom and Dad Dubish rushed down to Philadelphia. The surgery went well, and Shannon's recovery in the first two weeks was spectacular. She came off the ventilator more quickly than any other patient before her.
Shannon was discharged on July 15, and is currently staying in the Philadelphia area in order to attend rehab three days per week. Please continue your prayers and thoughts because she is still in a lot of pain. It will take some time to build up her strength, and she and her family need your support as much as ever.
Thank you and keep on!
