My mother, Lorie Wright is 50 years old and suffers from emphysema and COPD. Her doctors at Duke Medical Center have told us that her only option is a life-saving lung transplant. Her strong faith is carrying her through this difficult time.
Lorie was born in Roanoke, VA. She is a loving mother a grandmother of eight and good friend to many. She has always helped family, friends, strangers, friends of friends etc. where ever there was a need not expecting anything in return just saying “pay it forward”. Unfortunately, due to her poor health she is no longer able to work or do many things we each take for granted every day. She hopes to get the support she needs from family, friends and the community so that she can get the transplant and return to taking her grandchildren camping, working and becoming an active member of the community again.

Well after relocating to Durham January 2nd 2017, I have all my test up dated and going to pulmonary rehabilitation five days a week I’m getting stronger and meeting all the requipments . I was finally listed February 10th 2017. Now the waiting begins to receive the call that they have found me a donor, I want to thank all of you who have been praying for me and for your financial support. Please remember to pray for the donor family for this is a Hugh sacrifice for a family to make, let’s also pray for the surgeons and the surgical team. And pray for my daughter Tiffany who is my caregiver to have the strength to take care of me. I have seen one set of footprints in the sand for God has been carrying me through this for some time now.Amen
