It’s been a month since Molei moved to Craig Hospital and she’s continuing to make great progress in her recovery. She’s speaking and eating now! Both take a lot of effort, but it’s a good start. She’s able to stand a lot easier and even started to work on walking up stairs in physical therapy. Again a difficult task that takes help but it’s amazing that she can do it at all.
She no longer has a tracheostomy tube or catheter. Once she’s able to eat enough the doc will remove her feeding tube too. That’ll be the last tube and she’ll be hardware free, besides where they fused her spine.
Her memory seems pretty well intact. It appears she remembers everything but January through April. That’s really good given the extent of her injuries.
She’s cracking jokes, playing board games and trying to work hard in therapy so she can get home. She still has a long way to go but things are looking up.
