Allen McGary has had health problems since he was a child. When he was four years old he was diagnosed with gluten intolerance and as a senior in high school, he had surgery on his right kidney. This, in turn, lead to multiple kidney stones and eventual removal of his right kidney.

In 2000, Allen became disabled with small bowel mobility disorder. He had multiple abdominal surgeries but by 2014, Allen had lost 50 pounds due to his inability to absorb food. Unfortunately, later in the fall of 2015, he again started to lose weight and wasn’t absorbing adequate nutrition from his food. The transplant team had to remove all but 20 centimeters of small bowel and most of the large bowel. Now, Allen is in need of a life-saving small bowel, liver and pancreas transplant. He is finishing evaluations at the Cleveland clinic and will be listed soon.

Allen and Leslie You know that I am retired now. I don't live that far from you. If there is anything you need me for, I would be happy to help. Allen and I are old buddies.
