HOLIDAY SEASON MESSAGE FROM BOB TO HIS FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS:
To my friends, Family, and fellow restaurant enthusiasts:
It’s been quite a while since many of you have heard from me, possibly even since Springtime. That’s when I suffered a life-altering, freakish accident when rushing to be on a company conference call at 6:30AM Central time. As some of you know, that accident left me a quadriplegic. Since then, I have been in and out of at least six different hospitals and therapy centers.
Fortunately for me, I have been supported by a wonderful wife, son, and daughter, along with extremely supportive friends and associates. Believe it or not, I am one of the luckiest guys around, supported by their love, prayers, and financial support, for all of which I’m humbly grateful and appreciative.
I hope to spend this Christmas season with my family and small groups of friends if possible. My wife Susan, for whom I am eternally grateful, has taken on more since my surgery than should be allowed. Brett and Megan both seem to be happy and healthy. Megan has continued her career as a healthcare recruiter and my son Brett has stepped up and has moved in with Susan to help with my care. He has been an amazing support to our family as he continues to find his career path.
I just wanted to provide a short update for all of you and explain why I have been out of touch for so long. I wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season.
Best regards, Bob
Note from David Smith and Gerry Hornbeck: for the past several weeks, Bob has been a patient at Vanderbilt Hospital and has recently moved to a wound treatment facility in the Nashville area for special help with serious bedsores. He will probably remain in that facility for more than a month, but we are hoping he will be able to return home early in 2022. We will provide updates from time to time.
Please continue to support Bob and his family with your tax deductible donations via this web page. Many thanks, and Happy Holidays!
