Family and friends of Summer Carl are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

I think I did my updates out of order lol, I'm sure I will be forgiven.
My journey with kidey failure and needing a transplant began in October of 2020. I had just gotten health insurance and had some pretty standard blood work done. I started recieving some frantic messages from my Dr to head to the hospital immediatly he was using words like "CREATININE" as if I was supposed to know what that meant. I ended up spending 6 days in the hospital eventually piecing together that I was suffering from end end stage renal failure! Suprise! I hadn't even a clue I was sick! Stage 5 kidney failure came with so many life changes and in the midst when I probably could have just thrown in the towel I started to realize how many people I have rooting for me. I never considered that coming so close to death would show me how beautiful people could be. I've been on home dialysis since February 2021 and all has been fairly smooth going. Now it's transplant time and my amazing bestie (who was the first to offer me her kidney) ended up being a perfect match! So here we are fund raising, having faith and hope that all parties involved come through health and safe! Please if you feel motivated to help, do so.

Hi! I'm currently waiting for the final dates for my transplant! I have the blessing of a living donor who happens to be my best friend of 20 years! I have several months worth of essential bill money saved up but will need help with the potential cost of anti rejection meds and other medical expenses. Additionally my sweet husband will be taking off as much time as needed while I recover. When this started I had no idea the value of community based support! I thought all I could look forward too was a casserole and some well wishes I've quickly learned that my community is loving and generous beyond measure! Please know that your donation is recieved with a grateful heart and is more than just money, it's also peace of mind.
