With Thanksgiving only a couple of days away we remember our faithful friends and donors. Waiting for a kidney is a stressful time, but we have been helped by so many old and new friends that it difficult to thank everyone.
Since the beginning of June this year we have had an eventful health experience. A broken leg, two heart attacks, a bout of pneumonia and a broken foot have caused us to miss summer and fall. Because of all these ailments Brenda has been put on the standby list until at least August 2016. We will remain hopeful and through all of this our faith has become stronger.
As the holidays become closer in the spirit of the season please consider a contribution to Brenda's campaign. We have had numerous experiences with non profit organizations and helphopelive has been the best we have ever worked with. Compassionate, always ready to support and help, they have been rock steady in their devotion to those in need.
We wish everyone a happy thanksgiving.

Where has the summer gone. It seems that it was only yesterday that there was snow on the ground and now school is about to start.
Just as winter was difficult, summer has also been tough for Brenda. On June 9th, Brenda fell down our steps and broke her left leg and badly bruised her right leg. After about a week in the hospital and rehab it was discovered that she had a heart attack. One blockage was repaired and two others were treated with medication.
This caused us to be blindsided by another problem. She was taken off the transplant list and placed on the "inactive list" for at least a year. She was crushed.
She went through rehab and was released from care on Aug 5th. Aug 6th she had a major heart attack. Three stents were placed in her heart to open up blockages. It was also discovered that one major artery was completely blocked and could not be repaired without open heart surgery for which she is too weak to proceed with.
Now home she is trying to regain her strength and her spirit. This is not an unusual story for someone waiting for a transplant, it happens all the time. But it is an example of how important the gift of a transplant is -- to be able to save a life or give a recipient a better life.
Please consider being an organ donor. I hope and pray that our next post will be better. Thanks to all who have contributed to Brenda's campaign.
