It has now been 5 weeks since my kidney transplant. I can not express the emotional and physical journey that this has been. I am so greatfull to my wonderful mom, who was also my donor. I still have a long road to recovery, and a lifetime ahead of me. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, the emotional support was just as appreciated as the financial.

Since I started this journey two years ago, a few things have changed. In January 2014 I stopped dialysis so that I could have surgery to repair some damage done by the dialysis. The doctor later decided to see how long I could maintain on my own until a transplant could take place. By August 2014 my kidneys began to decline more. I am fortunate enough to have a living donor, and we are scheduled to have transplant surgery on Feb 24, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. As many of you know the expenses are astronomical. All donations will help with medical and living expenses while I am off from work and recovering. Thank you for your support , it means more to me than you can ever know.
