As many of you may know, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6:30 a.m., while most of my friends are off to work, I am sitting in a chair for a 4 hour and 30 minute dialysis treatment. At just 43 years of age, I have been doing this for 18 months now.

In December of 2011, I went to see my family doctor for a severe cough and weight gain and mentioned my legs were swollen. He called me the next morning to meet him at the hospital, where I was admitted. Following a 7 day stay and a loss of 43 lbs, I was told I had stage-4 kidney failure and would soon face dialysis treatments in order to survive.

Please look under the fundraising tab on this page. The first fundraising activity was set up by a dear, thoughtful friend from High School. It is a gift basket, flower and candle gift service. Portions of all sales will go to my Kidney Campaign. Please take a look and shop around. There is something for everyone and in every price range. Thank you, Lainie
