Update....... John McElroy is through surgery and back to his room and everything went excellent! He's doing just fine! Docs said procedure was relatively simple and all was a success!
When John got to UK's ICU, he was in Bed D. After a few weeks, he was moved to Bed M. When he asked why we were moving him, I told him because Bed M would be the room for miracles so that's where he needed to be. I was right (as usual! ) and we got our miracle!
Thank you God for your countless blessings and so many answered prayers!!

Good morning all. They just now took John McElroy back to OR for the lung closure procedure. This was supposed to happen this past Thursday, the day following transplant, but John was so critical at that point that it was postponed until they felt he was more stable. It is expected to be a 2 to 4 hour procedure. Please pray all goes smoothly, with no complications. John is a trooper...... absolutely and without doubt the strongest person I have ever known so I know he'll come out of this just fine and ready to run!
My final request, please, is do not call me right now. His team has me in a private room, all by myself, in an attempt to let me get some rest, which I desperately need. I am fine and am looking forward to some peaceful alone time. As soon as John returns to his room, I will let all know. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers for John and for me! 1
