As I come up on a year (8/26/15) since Kyle gave me a kidney, I wanted to provide an update in case anyone ever checks out this page. I am doing very well. Life is getting back to normal, as I start a new full time job next week and my son returned to school after a year of home schooling. While we made up for a rotten 2014 by spending much quality time together as a family, we are excited about moving forward to a "normal" life again. We have appreciated everyone's help and support. We can't offer enough thanks! If things continue to go well, then I won't really have much more to update here, but you can keep track of us through e-mail, facebook (especially Erica's), and the usual channels. Thanks again for everything. We have appreciated it! Sean

I do not know if anyone is even still reading this page, but if so, I certainly wish everyone a healthy and happy new year. I am excited to get 2014 behind me and am looking forward to a great "new" start. I don't want to jinx myself but honestly, I have been feeling much better. While I have had some set backs with issues related to scar tissue and bowel obstructions, my kidney is doing well. I have gained 25 pounds since August and while eating whatever I wanted was great, I now have to start watching my weight like a "normal" person. I'm not complaining though and am excited to have this as my "new" problem. I can almost walk down my street and back without assistance and can tell my strength is improving with each passing month. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. It has been helpful and rewarding!
