4/12/2016 I want to say Hi! to everyone following my progress to get on a transplant list, and update you on the progress my team and I have made. I got a call last Thursday from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston Mass. They have accepted me into their transplant program. I am going down in May to talk to the Pulmonologist about the good bad and ugly and have some more test updated. Then I get to make the final decision to have the transplant. At which time I will be listed. They said it could be awhile on the list. Thank you all for your support and prayers as my journey continues on.

Hi and warm wishes to everyone. The sun is shining here in Shoreham, Vt. The brightly colored leaves are floating through the air on their journey to the ground on this crisp, cool fall day. When they reach the ground they will have one of many purposes. Decided at the hands of individuals who come across them. They could be raked up in a big pile for kids and kids at heart to jump in and cover each other with. Creating laughter and excitement that abounds from the pile. They could be raked up and left to rot into mulch. But only if man turns them over and over so the wet slimy ones on the bottom get to be on top from time to time to dry out. They could be raked up and incinerated.
Back in 2000-2001 I was guided to float into Vermont Adult learning and share my concerns about learning, retaining and recalling information. It was the best place I floated into on my journey through life and the beginning of many positive experiences in my life. I found a net work of co-workers and friends. Which stand by me today. They help me with my grocery shopping, trips to doctors and just getting out of the house. They are afraid that if I drive I will have a coughing spell that will lead to a breathing issue. And I will cause an accident and hurt someone. They get a break from me nagging them about it because right now I can't afford a car. My dear friends be fore warned. Spring will come and I will wake from my long winters nap. Ready to explore the wonderful small town communities of Vermont once again on my own.
I have a core group of six friends called team Robin. My birthday was in September two of my team members ordered pink hats with Team Robin stitched in red for each one of us to wear for my birthday present.
My friends Kathy Hall and Barbara deal worked really hard planning and pulled off an amazing crock pot spaghetti dinner and bake sale on Saturday,September 27,2014 at the Congregational Church in Middlebury, Vt. Many former co workers and their family members as well as my brother Ronnie and his wife Melinda baked goodies to sell and prepared a crockpot of sauce. We had all kinds of sauces including meat, vegetarian, gluten free , creamy and many more. Many former co-workers showed up to decorate the hall and were an organized group of busy beavers in the kitchen, Cooking spaghetti, chopping vegetables for salad, cutting an buttering bread, and making ice tea and lemonade. I was humbled by the number of people who cared enough about me to work so hard on my behalf. Including my son who raised money by selling tickets to the dinner and green ribbons that represent organ donation awareness where he lives.
I was also humbled by the number of people who showed up to eat that I had not seen in years, In addition the awesome number of community members that I was not acquainted with.
The event brought in $1,300 dollars.
Fund raising activities continue on line, through Containers in local businesses, Green Ribbon sales, and applying for grants. Stay tuned for the next event.
I will be going to Mass General on Nov 5, 2014 for another evaluation. My Friend Ann Crocker and my Friend and the executive director of Vermont Adult Learning will be going with me. I have my fingers and toes crossed that they will list me this time. I would appreciate your prayers for this to happen. Words alone can not express how much I love and appreciate all of you who have helped me, been there for me, and contributed to my campaign. Thank You Robin
