It is with great sadness we report that Fran Jones passed away on March 2, 2024. Family and friends have been working with Help Hope Live to raise money to help finance uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
In loving memory of Fran, Help Hope Live will continue to accept charitable donations to help defray uninsured costs that were incurred. Fran’s family had chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because the nonprofit organization provides both tax-deductibility to the full extent allowed by law and fiscal accountability to contributors. Contributors can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically related expenses.
To make a kind contribution to Fran’s memorial fundraising campaign, select the “Give” button on this page or call 800.642.8399.
For more information, please contact Help Hope Live at 800.642.8399.
In loving care and remembrance, thank you for your support.

Please help Fran Granata Jones with her liver transplant.
Fran Jones is the most generous, kind and loving woman you will ever meet. You may even be one of the countless people who has benefited from her kindness. She has been able to truly be the kind of caring person her Father in Heaven intended for us all to be. But she has been dealt a tough hand throughout the years.
In 1999, Fran unexpectedly lost her husband, Steve, leaving her a grieving widow and single mother to Kristen (14) and Zane (5). In a cruel twist of fate, Fran found out that same week that she had Hepatitis C. Doctors gave her no hope for the future.
Fran fought hard and underwent multiple therapies and treatments to make sure she’d see her kids grow up. Defying the odds, she has been able to see her daughter walk down the aisle, her son graduate from high school, and her grandson’s birth. But she was also diagnosed with liver cancer. The good news is that doctors secured a new medication for Fran and it knocked out the Hep C completely but they also cautioned that only a liver transplant will conquer the cancer. And now she is first on the liver transplant list in Arizona and is hoping for her transplant any day!
As a family, we are asking for your prayers and any financial support you can give. Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. With her limited insurance, Fran is facing very high expenses including over $20,000 in initial transplant co-pays, hospital stay, post-transplant medications, post-operative co-pays, lab fees, and more.
To help with the financial burden of her uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in Fran’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 35 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution by clicking on the yellow Give bar.
Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity.
Gratefully,
Kristen Derbyshire & Zane Jones, Fran’s children

Fran,
Without a doubt, you are one of the most memorable people that I've ever encountered from my time at WHS. You were always so supportive in my 2 wonderful years as one of Kristen's teachers. As many of Kristen's former classmates can attest to, you were, without a doubt, the Class of 2003's favorite mom! More important, you did a tremendous job raising both Kristen and Zane to be outstanding people, just like you. Please know how LOVED you are by so many in the WHS community, myself included. One day I hope and pray that my two daughters can be as remotely wonderful people as you are. Thank you for all of the kindness and genuine love that you've shown to me and my family over the 14 years that we've known each other. I KNOW for certain that you still have a ton of fight in you, and I'll be happy to lend any of my time and resources to help you in your battle so that you prevail and can live the life with the health that you deserve. Thank you for being the wonderful person that you are and for lighting the way for so many of us to follow as the type of person that we DESERVE to be. We live in a very cynical and negatively charged world this day and age. You are a beacon of light and hope, and your compassion and kindness that you so readily give to others in your generous nature is coming full circle. God Bless you and yours, Fran. WE LOVE YOU!

Lisa Weatherhead Cellers This lady is a one of a kind . God broke the mold after making her and then said she perfect . Have you ever been around someone who makes everyone feel beautiful ,special, and take time for everyone well then I will tell you that would be this wonderful lady. She is a friend to all . She is my best friend . She belongs on this earth to finish what she wants to do . When she gets her new liver she will have a chance to live life again and be healthy. She is my angle . Please share to help get more support for Frannie Jones .
