Many of you know our mother and daughter, Vea Canada. She is a loving mother, grandmother of six, daughter, sister, aunt and good friend to many. She is the most gentle and kind person you will ever meet and is always helping those in need.
Vea is 56 years old and has been suffering from Sarcoidosis. Her doctors at INOVA Fairfax Hospital have told us that her only option is a life-saving lung transplant. Due to her poor health, Vea was forced to leave her job in the Richmond Public Schools where she had worked for over 30 years. She is also unable to do so many things we all take for granted in our everyday routine.
Vea has the support of all of us. However, even with insurance, there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, transportation and relocation for at least 3 months following the transplant. In addition, Vea will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications.
After many years of helping others, Vea now desperately needs your help.
A fundraising campaign in Vea’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
On behalf of Vea and our families, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.
