Hello everyone. I would like to thank you all for the continued support, prayers and genuine concern for my daughter, Alicia Peterson, who is in dire need of a kidney transplant. These last few years since my daughter has been diagnosed has had so many ups and downs, it's just unbelievable. Endless trips to the hospital, the need for shocking her heart, having to call the ambulance a couple of times and of course her having to have dialysis three times a week, it's just so much for one person to have to go through, especially with her trying to raise her son.
My daughter has had to go to the emergency room twice in the last two weeks. It's so scary. A lot of times, I try not to think about it, but I see her suffering and I just feel so helpless. I pray to God all the time, Lord, please help my daughter, please save her. As I write this, the tears are flowing. I try to be strong all the time. I really put up a good front most of the time. I know deep in my heart that God got her. I know that He is watching over her, protecting her and I know that we are truly blessed.
Alicia have not been feeling good, especially the last few days. My grandson, Kameron, told her today that he wish he could give her his kidneys. He said he hates to see her feeling bad and hates to see her sad. He does not like to leave her side. He really is a little protector. He worries about his mom, but he tries his best to take care of her.
This surgery is very expensive and insurance will not take care of everything. Her medication after the surgery can run up to $2500.00 monthly. The surgery itself will cost in excess of $250,000.00. I plead with you all again to please find it in your heart to try and make a donation to this campaign. It doesn't matter if you can only make a small donation. We appreciate whatever you can give, no matter how small.
We also may still need a donor. If you are B+ or B-, anywhere in the B family, you may be a match. If you are and would like to be tested, please contact Becky Guillera @ 1-800-928-6247, ext 23925, at The Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute.
Thank you so much for all your help and support, and please keep my daughter in your prayers.

Early Wednesday morning, I was awakened by a phone call from the dialysis center telling me that my daughter had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance. That phone call scared the day lights out of me, but I immediately began to pray and ask God to please save my daughter. They told me that her heart rate was too high and her blood pressure was too low. They admitted Alicia to ICU and started giving her medications to try and lower her heart rate, but she started having allergic reactions to the medication. After her two kidney doctors and her heart doctor had a conference to try and see what they could do to save my daughter, they decided to do a procedure and shock her heart. Prayer warriors immediately started praying and friends and family surrounded us. This was the worst 2 days of my life, but somehow I knew that God would come through. He always does. The doctor said they only had to shock her heart one time and it started beating normal again. We so appreciate the doctors that saved my daughters' life, we are so thankful that God guided them. We are so thankful for all the family and friends that supported her, for all of the phone calls and visits, all of the prayers and well wishes.
The other good news is that Alicia now has a donor that is so lovingly and kindly willing to give her a kidney, to give her life. As I write this, I cry again because I am so thankful to her and to God for putting it on her heart to do so. The transplant surgery was originally planned for November, but once the donor found out that Alicia had been admitted to ICU, she immediately called the transplant center and rescheduled the surgery to move it up. She did this on her own because she does not want Alicia to have to go through anything like this again. She had some plans of her own that she has cancelled in order to help my daughter. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Breanna Riggins, and we know that you are stepping up because of that beautiful heart of yours. We love you!
I am asking again for help to support my daughters' kidney transplant expenses. As you know, this is a very expensive surgery and insurance alone does not begin to cover everything. There are some pre-transplant expenses which does also include helping the donor with her expenses and extensive dental work for my daughter that has to be done prior to her having the transplant. The donor is a college student who will have to take off work for approximately 3 weeks. My daughter will also have to be on very expensive anti-rejection medications for the rest of her life. I am asking for donations, but if you can't make a donation, then please say a prayer. The transplant is only a month away and we don't have much time.
We appreciate all of your support and thank you so much!
