It has been a long time since I did an update! I praise God for these lasts 28 months. Although things have not gone smoothly, I am alive and breathing! I no longer live in Jenison. Wyoming is now home. A condo was a better fit for my handicap. God has blessed me with ability and strength to babysit my grandkids while their parents work. My lymphoma (caused by transplant) is in remission. My lung capacity is steady. I still have acid reflux(also caused by surgery) so may need surgery on that someday. My osteoporosis(caused by medication) is still an issue. Thank you all for your prayers!

Wow! Has it really been 5 months since the last update?! So much has happened since then. Unfortunately, this update is not going to be an easy one. My mom has been having tooth pain lately and she went into the oral surgeon to see what's going on. They found an infection in her jaw that pretty bad. She is having surgery on her face to remove as much infection as they can and they will also do a biopsy on the bone. The doctor's just want to be sure it hasn't spread to the bone.
In addition to all of that, during some routine testing the doctors found cancer in my mom's new lungs. It's a rare form of cancer but they are optimistic about treatments. She is getting a biopsy done today to see what treatment will be needed. It can range from lowering her anti rejection medication (so her body can fight it off), oral medication, or chemo.
While she is in the hospital she is keeping up with her physical therapy as she is still recovering from her stroke. Her left foot isn't functioning as well as we would like it too. We are praying that the cancer treatment won't slow down the progress that she has made so far.
We are praying for the best and my mom is in good spirits. It's just crazy to think how much she has been through and it isn't even her one year anniversary with her new lungs.
