Although Matt received his gorgeous new heart he has had an unfortunate set back. Shortly after transplant he developed pancreatitis with large pseudocysts filled with fluid. The doctors believe that it is an inflammatory response from the "angry neighbor" .
In the last 5 months he has had stints placed and removed twice, has been plagued by extreme pain and nausea/vomiting and has spent over 2 months in the hospital. He was home for 5 days before he had to be readmitted. We are hopeful he will get through this but it's going to take months for him to quit vomiting and feel like a human. Our family is hanging in there as I was hoping I could maybe go back to work.
Matthew is so sick that he's on feeding tubes and I am his full time caregiver even more intense than pre transplant leaving no time for me to do anything outside of the home and barely enough time to go to the grocery store. I ask on Matthews behalf that if anyone is able, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution now in honor of Matthew. All donations are strictly monitored and only see for medical expenses.
