It has been 1 month since Glen, my dad, had his successful heart transplant surgery!!! My brother Wyatt and I have been so excited to have our dad back and all fixed up that we cant even believe this all really happened. Glen had his heart transplant March 21st, 2015. All of his doctors and nurses at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona have been out of this world amazing! We think about how lucky we are everyday. My dad is home now and feeling better each day. He has begun rehabilitation to gain his strength back and is walking and lifting weights to gain back his muscle tone. With all of the expenses that have come along with this life saving surgery we are still very much in need of help from anyone who can donate. Every little bit helps. Glen is on an entire new set of medications that include his anti rejection medication and anti infection medications. Now, these medication are very essential to him not rejecting his new heart and staying away from infections. The hospital and his transplant coordinator have been so helpful in making sure Glen understands all of his new medications and knows how to set up his pill boxes correctly, but the price of these medications is thousands of dollars a month and with all of the unexpected expenses that have come his way paying for this essential medication has been tricky. If you are able to donate please know that any and all donations will go directly to essential medications and medical bills. We have been told that within the first 6 months after transplant surgery it is the most important time to recover properly and to say healthy as rejection possibilities are high during this time. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us or donated to his fund, we really couldn't have done this without the love and support we have received. Thank you!!
