Steve Needs Our Help!
Steve Hamilton is a 60-year-old man who is very ill. After years of struggling with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and emphysema he was so fortunate to receive a double lung transplant in 2011. After surgery, transplant patients must take anti-rejection medications for the rest of their lives. In Steve’s case those same medications that kept him from rejecting his new lung also took such an enormous toll on his kidney, that his doctors have told him he now needs a kidney transplant. Steve has just one kidney. We have been down this road before and know firsthand the cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.

SADLY, STEVE’S HEALTH IS DETERIORATING. His kidney function is now down to 13%!! Steve is scheduled to have a port put in his arm so he can start dialysis treatments 3 days a week, hours at a time. He has been active on the kidney transplant waiting list for 1.5 years. We’ve been told it could take as long as 3 years! The medical bills continue to mount. We are planning fundraisers for the Fall. Please check back for the details.
