7/17/17 Well I had my 2nd call for transplant but it didnt go through. I am doing great, keeping my number as good as possible. My GFR is back up to 16 after spending a week in the hospital when my function dropped to 8 and I almost had to start dialysis. I truly believe God had other plans... And here I am! I have my annual eval with transplant team in Gainesville on the 25th. Then August 1st-10 I have evaluations trying to get switched to Mayo in Jax because it way closer! Thank you everyone for your support, thoughts and prayers!

Hi everyone, I will be active for 1 year and 9 months on 4/15/2017! I am holding strong but ready for the next chapter! Its expensive and a 24 hour job going through this. I see 12 doctors, not including my transplant team. And 4 of these Dr's have to run tests or do operations every month or so to keep me as good as possible. I was hospitilaized at the end of January 2017 for one week! I went in for my monthly blood work and usually 2 days later I pick up a copy for my own records. So my GFR (kidney filtration rate) which has been at 20 for almost 2 years dropped to 10! I called my dr and he sent me to the hospital to be admitted for Acute Kidney Failure due to Hypercalcemia. The high toxicity of calcium had caused tubular kidney damage. Which is reversible to a point. I was flushed with IV and I felt like every test was ran on me. I even had tremors! But the calcium levels werent coming down. We came to the conclusion that I was going have to start emergency hemo dialysis. The specialist came in my room to put cath in carotid artery in my neck (that hurts!) but said my artery was too collapsed and they would put more IV fluids and try again the next day! Well God had other plans! The next morning my blood results showed improvement and that the meds were starting to work! I ended up having to change all of my medications and was put on a highly expensive medication but it has got the calcium under control. Now 2 months later and my kidney function is at 13% and I feel "better than what the Doctors say I should"! Thank you ALL for you support! It means the world to me!
