Incredible Strides in Recovery!

Tom Taggart

Thomas Taggart had a stroke in October 2016 which left him without the use of his right arm or right leg. Tom is beginning to regain his movement through intensive therapy.

His goal is to purchase a hand rehabilitation device to further improve his movement.

Tom is a 25-year Costco employee and a drummer for his church’s worship team. He can’t wait to return to work with improved mobility. He fundraises as a part of the Northwest Catastrophic Illness Fund.

Molei Wright

Molei Wright and her boyfriend were driving to the mountains when their vehicle was hit by a truck. After three months in a coma, Molei awoke with a traumatic brain injury and almost complete paralysis, miles away from her former life. Doctors gave Molei a 1% chance of survival.

As ABC7 Denver reports, she began defying the odds from Day 1.

Molei wheeled herself out of the hospital on her own. She began learning to walk again and regaining her speech, “getting her life back one step at a time.”

She just passed an incredible milestone: Molei went skiing for the first time since her accident with help from adaptive ski instructors. The day after her first supported skiing lesson on the slopes, Molei skied without assistance.

She fundraises as a part of the Midwest/West Catastrophic Injury Fund.
