I am not sure why it sometimes seems easier to struggle than to ask for help, but I’m finally ready to ask for help!
I’m Mario and am preparing to relocate my wife and myself 600 miles from our rural home to Phoenix, Arizona in order to receive a double-lung transplant.
How did I arrive in the position to need this crazy surgery?? Seems that the environmental factors, which were built into my lifetime of building homes, are the cause. Still, I wouldn’t have changed my vocation and have only recently set it aside since trying to work while being attached to oxygen contraptions has just become too difficult! (It’s also difficult to drag the equipment along on a horse or riding lawnmower.)
The transplant team and many of the post-transplant patients have given me great hope for the other side of the surgery: hope to breathe without oxygen equipment; hope to ride horses again; hope to travel with my wife (we love road trips!); and hope to live and enjoy my family and friends for years longer!
My request for help at this point is for financial help to pay the co-pays and non-covered medical expenses while we are in Phoenix.
