Pat Henderson is a 62-year-old man who is very ill. He has been battling cirrhosis of the liver and other complications for a while and at this point, his only hope for survival is a liver transplant. He has undergone intensive evaluations at Intermountain Medical Center and has been deemed a very good candidate for transplant. As of April 1, 2016 he is actively listed for a transplant; we are hopeful he will receive the gift of life soon.
Pat grew up in Georgetown, Illinois and graduated from Schlarman Academy. He worked as a supervisor for Murray’s Water Department until he retired a few years ago. Pat and his wife Lorie live in Murray, Utah and they have two sons, Luke and Matt. They also have three lovely granddaughters, Keeley, Kadynce, and Kendyl. His greatest joy is his family and babysitting the grandchildren. Pat looks forward to his life post-transplant when he can enjoy more time with his family and loved ones.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Pat is facing many out-of-pocket expenses, including co-pays, lab tests, travel to and from the transplant center, and the costly anti-rejection medications he will have to take for the rest of his life.
To help with the financial burden of Pat’s uninsured expenses, he may apply to receive assistance from the Help Hope Live Southwest Liver Transplant Regional Restricted Fund. Help Hope Live is a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, the property of Help Hope Live, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on the website because we will be planning some fundraising events soon.
Gratefully,
Patrick’s Family
