Kris is a loving husband and an amazing father to our young girls. He is a Godly man and has a heart to serve others. He has been part of missions trips to Ecuador and Chile where he helped to rebuild schools and refurbish the local church. Kris also served honorably in the US Navy for 10 years, it was at this time during Kris’ exit medical exam he was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy, a debilitating disease that attacks the kidneys. After years of damage to his kidneys, in May of 2015 Kris’ kidney prognosis became worse and resulted in End Stage Renal Disease. He was immediately hospitalized and placed on dialysis. Kris is now completely dependent on dialysis, as it serves as his only lifesaving alternative to healthy kidneys. Dialysis has taken a toll on Kris as he finds himself extremely tired most days and in discomfort. It has affected his quality of life, but more tragically, dialysis leaves Kris too exhausted to spend valuable time with our young daughters. Kris’ only chance to return to good health and live a normal life is a kidney transplant.
Kris’ sister-in-law, Missy, will be selflessly donating her kidney to Kris. This is a priceless gift that words can by no means express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude. But, funding this lifesaving procedure is a monumental task, as there will be many medical expenses not covered by insurance; high deductibles, co-pays, anti-rejection medications, lab fees, and follow-up care.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Kris’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution, please click the DONATE NOW button.
Your support is critical to the overall success of Kris’ struggle. On behalf of Kris and our two daughters, I thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
Gratefully,
Michelle Murray
