Linsay needs a kidney transplant. She was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis when she was a baby. It’s a rare genetic disease that affects the major organs particularly her kidneys and brain. Linsay underwent a planned nephrectomy removing an enlarged, under functioning kidney in December of 2014. Sadly, just a month later, Linsay needed an emergency, second nephrostomy, to remove her other kidney. She has been on dialysis ever since. A kidney transplant was delayed because a brain tumor grew dangerously close to the main ventricle. The tumor was removed in July. After a rough recovery, Linsay is ready to move
forward and have a kidney transplant from one of her siblings!
Transplants are life-saving and can offer Linsay a higher quality of life. Unfortunately, transplants are financially draining even with insurance. Imagine, some of the unseen costs: home medical supplies, travel expenses, and caregiver expenses, not to mention time off work for Linsay’s mom.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Linsay’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the New York Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution, please click the DONATE NOW bar.
We can’t thank you enough for your prayers, support, and generosity. Hey, keep an eye on Linsay’s campaign page at www.helphopelive.org because we hope to plan some fundraising events soon and will be posting updates regularly.
Thankfully,
