Willie is a faithful member of The Church of Christ and her love for the Lord has enabled her to endure these hardships. Philippians 4:13 provides her with the strength needed to perform her daily tasks: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
For the past two years, Willie has been receiving a 24 hour infusion of Primacor in order to keep her heart functioning.
As a hairstylist, Willie has touched the lives of many people in the McKinney area, from former mayors to the homeless. She is a blessing and a comfort to those whom she comes in contact with.
Willie’s heart transplant was performed at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas by Dr. Capehart, and Dr. Johannes Kuiper as her Transplant Cardiologist, who oversees her recovery and performs monthly biopsies.
With her new heart now comes the challenge to pay for and maintain the exorbitant cost associated with her transplant. With the transplant complete Willie’s medical treatments are expensive. Out of pocket expenses exceed thousands of dollars per month and cost of the transplant in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Willie has been on disability since 1997, receiving approximately 10K a year. With your help Willie can continue to touch the lives of many.
With your help, Willie can continue to serve the Lord and touch many more lives.
Many thanks from Willie and her family

Family and friends of Willie Gilmore are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Willie has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive – The Leader in Fundraising Assistance and Support for Transplant and Catastrophic Injury in part because HelpHOPELive provides both tax-deductibility and fiscal accountability to contributors.
