Hi my name is Erika. I am working on getting a kidney and pancreas transplant. I am a type 1 diabetic. Because it took doctors a long time to figure out that I am type 1 and not type 2, I was on the wrong medications. The medications they had me on for type 2 diabetes took a toll on my kidneys. I am currently on dialysis.
I work at Kroger’s. I love reading, walking and helping others. I look forward to a better quality of life with your help in getting these transplants.
Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Family and friends of Erika Broyles are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

I am doing fine with my kidney. I want to share a poem I wrote to my donor.
Transplant Recipient To Donor
Thank You! Thank You! Very Much
For my precious gift
For awesome decision you made
in your darkest hours
To make my life better
So many dreams you've lost
But memories still remain
By giving me this precious gift,
your loved one still remains
Though you may not see it
My dreams have taken flight
Because of your awesome decision
I'm able to live my life
Not tied to machines
I cherish every moment
That you have given me
To follow my life's path
To bigger and better dreams
Thoughts of your family
Are with me all the time
For a part of your life is in me
Helping me with mine
I pray one day to meet you
To learn about your loved one's life
Rest assured they are with our savior
You will meet again
Right now, they are beside you
Your personal guardian
They say time heals all wounds
It gets easier with time
As long as we remember
They are never far away
Invisible they are right now
Gone never to stay
Thank you for your awesome gift
That's given me so much
Words can't express
My feelings for my gift
You are now my family
As I am part of yours
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Very, very much

Hi I just wanted to update my page. August 26 2020. I got my kidney. I am still working to get a pancreas. I never was able to lose enough weight for the pancreas.
My kidney started working immediately. I no longer have to do dialysis.
I have learned you can do what you set out to do. Even if it is hard.
