Church holds raffle for cash prizes and the purchase of an ADA van.

St. Benedict’s church in Duluth, GA held a cash prize raffle with on-line ticket purchases donated to Hope Help Live in honor of Randy Lorusso. Help Hope Live worked with the family to purchase a 2019 ADA van provided by a small handicap dealership that is run by a special needs family in South Atlanta. Their mission is to provide families like theirs with an affordable, low maintenance wheelchair van as an alternative to the traditional handicap van dealerships, Purple Ribbon Mobility.

Randy, who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years was injured in November 2019 following a fall as he exited a swimming pool where the pool lift was malfunctioning. Since the fall he has been unable to get in and out of his family’s standard van. The pastor of St. Benedict’s, Fr. Paul Flood, made a special appeal in Randy’s honor after several Sunday masses when the raffle was initiated in October 2020.
