I have Cerebral Palsy. I was diagnosed after birth. I did well with my diagnosis until I
was 32 years old while going to school to become a teacher. I finished my degree with a
manual chair and graduated in 2019. I’m proud of my accomplishments! I feel that
experience has made me a better person. In 2022 I found out that I have more
diagnoses and it was getting harder to push myself around and I needed a power chair.
I have Permobil M3. It is amazing, I love it! How did I get around from then till now?
Public transit. Sadly, I can no longer take public transportation as it is no longer safe for
me to ride. My current vehicle isn’t modified to transport my power chair and is too old to
modify and I don’t feel comfortable pulling a trailer or having lifts on the back, due to my
Cerebral Palsy, also its on its last legs. The engine is being held together by racing tape
because it doesn’t have an alternator shroud and the starter went out.
Outside of my education, I love helping my community, hanging out with family, friends,
the family dogs, along with being outside as often as I can. It’s good for my health. I
hope to open my own business after finding a job to help fund my business idea. I want
to be a medical courier and maybe an Uber or lift driver as it is a needed service in my
community.
My goal is $90,000 for a vehicle, vehicle fees, taxes, adaptive equanimity,
and gas to get started as it may take a bit to find a job. Please consider donating to
