I was diagnosed with 4th stage liver Cirrhosis in January, 2014. I did not know nor did I experience any problems until I was already Stage 4. My understanding of this Liver Disease was hereditary, but no one else in my family has the disease but it is possible to be a carrier. I need a Liver transplant because mine is having more ailments as time goes by. It is possible that i could go into Liver failure at any time.
I have a good support system from my friends, neighbors and church as well as my love ones. I am a wife and mother of 2 daughters, 1 step daughter and 1 step son.
They have given me 11 precious grandchildren. the younger ones know me always being sick. I cannot drive any unless my husband takes me (which is mostly doctor visits). At one time I could travel anywhere. That is not possible now. I very much would like to be healthy again so that I can spend time with my family and grandkids.
I have health insurance but it does not cover Lodging and travel expense. I will need to stay for 1 month after surgery near the Transplant Center.
