My sweet friend, & ALL cancer survivor, Carmel is out of remission. The Longoria family received this devastating news October 30,2020.
After beating Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia(ALL) once before, the cancer has come back aggressively and she has been given a 23% chance of survival rate.
Carmel is a beautiful mother of 3, wife and a friend to so many who cherish her deeply. As community, we have come to know & love them as our own. They need financial help, now more than ever. Treatments are very expensive & the cost of traveling back and forth to MD Anderson is not going to be cheap. She has also been asked to find housing, no more than 20 minutes away from home. Because of this, her son Logan and husband Oscar will be miles away. She has been unable to work, due to continuous chemo treatments, and their family is living off of one income.
If you have not met the Longoria Family, let me share some of their story with you.:
Like most families, The Longoria family was living out their best days until havoc hit their lives. On July 29th, 2014, their youngest child, Logan, was involved in a tragic accident. Only 17 years old, Logan was now faced with the diagnosis of quadriplegic. Paralyzed from the chest down, Logan's entire life changed. Their whole world change and it didn't stop there.
On Jan. 29th, 2018, their son Oscar Longoria Jr, also lovingly known as OJ, lost his life to an overdose. OJ suffered from depression and alcoholism. While this family was still coping with the tragedy of their youngest son Logan's accident, they were now faced with yet another devastation. Once again, their lives were shifted in a way like never before.
As if this wasn't even loss, suffering and hardship, on September 29th, 2018 Carmel was diagnosed for the very first time with ALL. Now faced with treatments, hospitalizations, fighting for her son Logan's medical problems and mourning the loss of her child OJ, Carmel & her husband Oscar have remained faithfully fierce.
On March 28th, 2020, Carmel, Logan and Oscar were all hit with Covid. On October 20th, 2020, Carmel received the news that she was out of remission and that the ALL was back...again!! This family needs a break! They have fought through every single obstacle that has come their way and continue to do so with their children Logan and Ashley.
Life has been far from fair or easy for them, and they have done so much good for so many. While most would wallow in their sorrows, and let their faith be shaken, The Longoria's refuse to give up!!! It is now our time to help them get through these difficult times, once again. Please consider donating to this beautiful family, and giving them so much deserve relief. Thank you
