After being admitted to the hospital for a gallbladder infection, Dale was unexpectedly diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) He will be requiring a heart transplant in the near future. Dale is a newlywed who needs to focus on health and healing without worrying about costs associated with his care.
Friends and family describe Dale as selfless and thoughtful – he will always go the extra mile for others. It does not matter what or when it is, when someone asks or even doesn’t ask Dale will be there for them helping in whatever way possible. His smile is endlessly contagious and he has many friends that he has known since childhood. Currently, he works as an EEG technician at the same hospital he is a patient at, and graduated from Duquesne University where he met his wife, Molly.
All donations will help Dale and his, Molly, pay for out of pocket costs including medication co-pay and 24/7 post transplant care. Funds will also help cover other bills and transportation costs sot he couple can focus on Dale’s health and care for optimal recovery.
Readers can donate to help pay for uncovered costs of care, share Dale’s story with their network and on social media. They can also organize or participate in other fundraisers to support Dale and Molly.

Thank you for your support!
He's HOME! Dale came home on Tuesday and has been doing very well. He's happy to have home cooked meals and to be sleeping in his own bed again. The cat has been super happy to have him home and has been his cuddle buddy as he continues to recover and recuperate.
Dale's procedure went well and he has been recovering in the ICU. We should be moved to a step down unit today and he's been working on getting out of bed and walking. Each day he is getting stronger and the doctor's are really pleased with his progress. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers as we move into the recovery stage of his heart transplant journey.
HE HAS A HEART! Yesterday morning at 3 am we received the call that they had a viable heart for Dale. He went through surgery and his new heart is working very well. He's awake and talking. The nurses and doctors are taking great care of him.
We're still waiting for a heart, but the doctors have assured as that they want nothing short of perfection for Dale's new heart. This is uplifting since we want a heart that will last him a long time. In the interim we we're able to take Dale outside to enjoy the springtime weather and rare Pittsburgh sun and he continues to remain in good spirits.
Dale's been doing well since having received the impella despite some consistent naseau. We're still waiting for news that they have a heart for him. In the meantime he's been moved to a room with a nicer view that allows the sun to shine in. Please keep hoping and praying that a new heart is available for him soon.
Dale had an Impella device put in this morning which helps his heart pump better. The implementation of this device not only will help him feel better, but it puts him in a higher position on the heart transplant list. The doctors are hoping that he will have a new heart in a couple of weeks. We appreciate everyone's kindness and generosity and I will do my best to keep you updated on his progress.
Today we learned that Dale will officially be added to the heart transplant list. Now we continue to wait to see what the best course of action is while we wait for a new heart.
