A grandmother’s love for her grandchildren is indescribable. I am their “Nonna.”
I love doing things with them and for them. However, during this past year, my Interstitial Lung Disease has become worse. I have difficulty breathing which requires using oxygen every day, all day. This is not me. I was a PE Teacher for 40 years. I am accustomed to exercising, doing activities with my grandchildren, gardening and preparing big Italian dinners for the holidays. Presently, I am unable to do any of these things. This breaks my heart. I am a positive and strong person and I look forward to a bright future following a successful Lung Transplant. Even though the transplant itself is covered by my health insurance, the monthly anti-rejection medications are not fully covered. Therefore, my estimated out of pocket expense is $2,500.00 a month. I need your help. Donating to Help Hope Live, would lessen the financial and emotional burden I face. Your generosity will allow me to focus on healing and recovering after surgery. Then, I could return to the grandmother I once was.
Family and friends of Lisa Dorato are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Lisa has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Lisa,
We missed our neighbors, the Doratos, after we moved many years ago. We were extremely saddened to hear of your respiratory trouble and hope your dream of returning to healthier days again becomes a reality soon. Spoiling all those grandchildren is a big responsibility, and you're expected to do your share. We're pulling for you and wish you only the best of outcomes.

Lisa, I am so sad to hear that you are going through this difficult time. You are one of the nicest people I have the pleasure of knowing and I wish there was more that I could do for you. I have had the honor to meet several of your beautiful family members and I know how much they mean to you and how much they adore you. I will pray that you will be able to spend many many more memories with them and that you will reach your goal.

Hi Lisa!
I am so heartbroken this is happening to you!! I\'d be happy to make you a meal if you\'d accept it. I am not a master Italian chef... but I\'d like to help! You are such an inspiration to those outside your family, so I know. you must be the sun itself to those little ones! I\'m praying for you!

Thank you for serving as my mentor over 20 years ago. I have learned so much from your leadership. I have grown to love your amazing family and know they love their mom and grandma.
