In September of 2021 my fiancé William Lounsbury Jr was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called dedifferentiated liposarcoma. He underwent 30 rounds of radiation and then on 2/11/22, he had a football sized tumor removed off of his left thigh. While healing from that surgery, he went into septic shock and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He was on life-support for three days and had three more operations on his leg.
William still has a long recovery ahead of him, because the margins are still positive for cancer. He has to undergo another round of radiation after he heals from his surgery, a long process given his prior treatment. The doctors have also found nodules on his lungs, which is the first place that this cancer likes to spread, so that is a major concern.
He is an over the road truck driver and we do on our own truck, for which we are currently behind on the payments. Thankfully, the man we are buying it from has been kind enough to work with us and help us. We’ve tried finding someone for a driver position, but with no luck.
Jr applied for disability back in September when he was diagnosed, but they have still not made a decision. We have gone through our entire savings, lost our home in the process, and pretty much everything else that goes with it. The only thing we have left is our car, which we need to travel to doctors appointments.
We would use the money that is being raised to pay for medical expenses throughout this process. His whole family is going through this with him because it makes an impact on the entire family when someone gets sick and goes through something like this. Please donate whatever you can and share.
William has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
