Our mom, Viola Barnes, is in a fight for her life.

She has been a hardworking Mom serving 10 years with the State of Virginia and 8 years for the federal government before illness forced her to retire. She has also survived the loss of our brother, her firstborn in 2020.

Her ultimate goals with receiving a transplant are to give back to the kidney community, take a dream trip to Africa, and be here for her grandchildren to take her for rides in their first cars.

The cost of a transplant has an estimated cost of $200,000, insurance will only cover a portion. There are lots of co-payments for testing prior to the transplant and medicines as well. Please donate what you can.

All it will take is just one person who will be willing to test and find a match for her. ALL the donor’s medical expenses will be paid by our mom’s insurance from start to finish. Giving the gift of life is free. So far, we have four hospitals listed below that are willing to test for matching donors for mom, just call and contact them with her information: Viola Barnes, DOB 01/15/1968. That gets the ball rolling.

With a “living” donor, our mom’s time at dialysis treatments will be shortened, and waiting for other types of donors will be shortened dramatically.
