Jack Richards is a bright, loving 7-year-old who has faced more challenges in his short life than most people do in a lifetime. Born at just 25 weeks and weighing barely over a pound, Jack spent 144 days in the NICU fighting for his life. He was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, microcephaly, polymicrogyria, and a rare GRIN2B-related neurodevelopmental disorder. Despite these complex diagnoses, Jack’s determination and joyful spirit shine through every single day.

Jack is defined by so much more than his medical challenges. He has an infectious smile, a love for music, animals, and being outdoors. He adores his two dogs, enjoys family walks, and loves the feeling of wind in his hair. He also has a special fondness for school—where he works hard alongside his classmates at Tomlinson Elementary. His teachers often say that Jack’s laughter and perseverance inspire everyone around him.

Because of his physical disabilities, Jack uses a wheelchair to navigate the world. But Jack’s fight for mobility doesn’t stop there.

We now have an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure a Trexo Robotics exoskeleton for him. The Trexo is a wearable robotic device designed specifically to allow children with cerebral palsy to experience walking upright. For Jack, this technology isn’t just about movement—it allows him to build core strength, improve weight-bearing bone density, and engage with his environment at eye level.

We are deeply blessed to have received a major grant from Be An Angel that will cover the majority of the cost of the device. However, we face one critical hurdle: we must raise a $5,000 cash deposit by December 31, 2026, to secure Jack’s spot in the manufacturing queue and lock in his original contract pricing before the cost increases dramatically.

Because specialized medical technology like this is not covered by insurance, we are turning to our community—family, friends, neighbors, and caring supporters—to help us bridge this final $5,000 gap.
