Lindsey is a 32-year-old disabled woman who worked part-time at Idlewild Amusement Park in 2024 season. And she will be turning 33 this May 2026! Please see details at the bottom to celebrate and support another year for Lindsey this May. She worked full-time as a civil engineer for eight years, from 2015 to 2023, before her health forced her to step back. She has been unable to work a position due to health now since 2025. She is in the process of applying for social security disability and and for state waiver assistance programs including the autism waiver after being diagnosed just this year as an adult. At times Lindsey was well enough, she has also been a writer, poet, and musician who loves reading, gardening, and spending time in nature.
Since 2015, Lindsey has lived with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), chronic kidney infections and sepsis, and recurring ovarian cysts which may require surgery to remove this year. She is waiting for confirmation of a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a connective tissue disorder that is known to cause whole body and joint pain like she experiences and increases risk of chronic urinary infections. Her conditions have progressively worsened, while healing may be possible upon Lindsey receiving the necessary resources for intensive treatments—much of it is not covered by insurance.
Lindsey is blessed to still be alive today!
CIRS affects multiple systems in the body, weakening Lindsey’s immune response and making it hard to recover from infections. She often becomes ill from being in public indoor spaces, which limits her ability to travel, work, or socialize. Most of her energy is spent resting and researching ways to recover.
Lindsey is following the Shoemaker Protocol for CIRS, which includes a range of critical but costly treatments. She’s raising funds for:
· Out-of-pocket supplements and medications for CIRS and related conditions
· IV infusion therapy to treat drug-resistant infections and prevent life-threatening sepsis
· Appointments with out-of-network providers who are the only specialists offering effective care
· Health insurance premiums through a PPO plan that allows her to access this care
· Mental health, neurological, and diagnostic care (including lab work)
· Regular deep cleaning at home to maintain safe indoor air quality—a necessity for her to begin healing
Despite how serious her conditions are, Lindsey has continued to advocate for herself and find the care she needs, even when others struggled to understand. She’s determined to recover, and her creative spirit is still alive and believing.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation through Help Hope Live in Lindsey’s honor. Every contribution helps Lindsey access life-saving care.
