Dear Family and Friends, as many of you know, my son Stephen suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury in April of 2011. Since that time Stephen has been attending intensive physical and occupational therapy programs in an effort to regain as much strength, mobility and functionality as possible. He has been able to advance from being dependent on a power wheelchair to a manual wheelchair with power-assist wheels.

Additionally, during this period Stephen has returned to school at Brigham Young University where he has completed his undergraduate course work in statistics and is now in his final year of the master’s degree program. He has also been able to complete two summer internships in the aerospace industry.
Stephen has worked hard, been patient, and has been the beneficiary of many acts of kindness and consideration. He has also required the use of exercise therapy equipment, home modifications, a wheelchair accessible van, and home health aides to assist him each day. Even with insurance, Stephen has many uninsured injury-related expenses such as: home health aides, additional educational and therapeutic adaptive equipment and supplies.
