It would mean freedom from dialysis, more energy to continue visiting nursing homes and assisting living seniors in need of Communion and prayers, a real shot at a future. I’m also an Usher at my church, sit with those who are dying without anyone and attend Mass daily. The surgery itself is covered [or partially covered] by insurance, but the out-of-pocket costs are overwhelming. Anti-rejection medications costly, travel and follow-ups and unexpected complications are costly.
