Greg’s Road to Recovery

On September 28, 2025, Greg’s life changed in an instant when he sustained a serious spinal cord injury.

Since that day, he has faced a road few could ever imagine. Greg spent 55 days at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by 90 days at On With Life in Ankeny, Iowa, where he began the long and difficult work of rehabilitation. Today, he is in Grundy Center, Iowa, continuing to work toward recovery.

Greg has been classified as having an incomplete T2–T6 thoracic spinal cord injury. He currently uses a power chair and has limited movement in all four limbs. Everyday tasks that were once simple now require tremendous effort, patience, and determination.

But Greg keeps working.

He keeps fighting.

And he continues to stay hopeful.

In farming, we understand that growth takes time. Before anything can grow, it must first take root. There are seasons of hard work, uncertainty, and storms to weather. Yet even when you cannot see the progress happening beneath the surface, you continue to believe that something is growing.

Greg’s recovery is much the same.

Every therapy session, every movement, and every small victory represents progress. Greg is working hard to build strength and regain as much independence as possible, one day at a time.

As he continues his journey, we hope to raise funds to help provide a specialized accessible vehicle, possible home accommodations, and continued therapy—giving Greg every opportunity possible to continue his recovery.

It has been a long year, but through it all, Greg has remained upbeat. The visits, prayers, encouragement, and support from family, friends, and our community have meant more than words can express.

Greg is doing the hard work.

And we are all behind him.

Because even through the hardest seasons, strength can take root and hope can grow.
