My dear friend, Janie Watson, is very ill and needs a lifesaving liver transplant. Like so many, Janie has worked her whole life in order to someday fulfill her dreams to retire, spend time with her grandkids, help in her ministries, do some fishing and enjoy the outdoors. Yet the moment she was diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver (NASH) and liver failure, her dreams changed to just one thing: to live!
There is no treatment or cure for Janie’s liver disease; if she does not have a liver transplant, she will die. Every day, as she waits for her transplant, her condition continues to deteriorate. Janie has managed a non-profit entity that raises funds to feed children that live in the streets in Romania (where her grandchildren were adopted from) and continues to provide accounting services as her health allows contributing as much as possible to the financial situation she faces. However, even with insurance and having paid into the medical system for decades, and despite her savings and the savings of her family, Janie is still not able to meet all of the medical expenses such as travel to and from the center, relocation for her and a caregiver and post-transplant immunosuppressant medications she will need to take for the rest of her life. Janie needs our help!
So many times, we make charitable contributions and never really get to see their benefit or we feel like we are powerless to make a difference. The effects of your contributions for Janie, all of which are tax deductible, will be easy to see and you will know you made a difference every time you see her smile! To help with the financial burden of Janie’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider an end-of-year tax deductible contribution.

With a little help from you, not only can you give Janie life, but allow her to live the life we each want and dream about. She refuses to give up and with a transplant she can live well for years to come!
Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Please keep an eye on the website because we will be planning some fundraising events soon. You too can have a fundraiser.
Gratefully,
Judy Bell, family and friends
