Sok Needs Your Help & Support!

Sok Taing, a wife, a mother of two, and a grandmother to two little girls that she adores dearly, is in need of a kidney transplant and needs the help of her family, friends, and community to make it happen.

Sok was told devastating news in April of 1986 that would change her life forever. She was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Lupus. She started chemotherapy shortly after and was told she would have to take steroids for the rest of her life along with other medications to help her kidney function at a normal level. Her doctors always told her she would have to start dialysis someday, but Sok’s a fighter; she did not have to start dialysis until 24 years later. Her condition worsened quickly and on Nov. 28th, 2010, she was admitted into the hospital and told that she was in kidney failure. Sok started dialysis and was placed on a waiting list for a transplant. She is currently receiving dialysis three times a week and waiting for a kidney.
