Larissa Needs Our Help!

Larissa “Dee” Hudson is a wonderful mother and caring daughter. At just 40 years old, this Charlotte, NC resident is living with ESRD (end-stage renal disease), Kidney Cancer. She was diagnosed with membranous nephropathy in 1998, one year after giving birth to her son, Xavier, now 22yrs old.

Her illness has progressed to such a point that her only hope for survival is a kidney transplant. Larissa is one of the kindest, most giving people you’d ever hope to meet and she needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.

Larissa “Dee” Hudson is a wonderful mother and caring daughter. At just 46 years old, this Charlotte, NC resident is living with ESRD (end-stage renal disease), Kidney Cancer. She was diagnosed with membranous nephropathy in 1998, one year after giving birth to her son, Xavier, now 28yrs old.Larissa received her 1st Transplant during COVID, August 19th, 2020. Her current Kidney has Severe Scarring and is currently rejecting. She is in need of a Living Donor for a 2nd Transplant. Larissa is one of the kindest, most giving people you’d ever hope to meet and she needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.Larissa grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Olympic High School. In addition to her son Xavier, Larissa helped raise her 28 year-old nephew, R’Draven, and 16 year-old niece, Raven. It’s no secret that kids are Larissa’s passion. She loves all of her nieces, nephews, and cousins as her own. She has many God-kids and “adoptive kids” as well. She is currently still working in her calling as a Pre-K Teacher Assistant for as long as her health will allow. Larissa is currently NOT on dialysis as of yet, but Praying and Believing for a Transplant before having to result back to that. She knows 1st hand that transplantation can be financially draining. Larissa is facing very high expenses for doctors’ appointments; post-transplant anti-rejection medications costing upwards of $4, 500.00 for first yr medications which she must take for the rest of her life; co-pays; lab fees.To help with the financial burden of Larissa’s expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
