Tommy has a loving and supportive family, who are committed to seeing him through his transplant. He graduated from Wewahitchka High School and spent years serving his country in the United States Marine Core. After the Marine Core, Tommy found work as a civilian in Panama City, Florida where he then met his future wife, Lisa. Tommy and Lisa have a beautiful daughter, Abby who will soon be having her 4th birthday. Abby is the love of Tommy’s life, and more than ever, he is committed to a lifesaving heart transplant, so he can continue to spend time with his daughter.
Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive. Tommy has been hospitalized since March, and is attached to a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). He relies on this device to stay alive, and he is unable to work. Out-of-pocket medical expenses continue to rise, and without a steady income, it has been very difficult for both Tommy and his family. He has been listed for transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, and Tommy will continue on closely supervised medical care at the hospital until he receives his heart transplant.
While Tommy waits for surgery, co-pays and deductibles, health insurance premiums, medical bills, caregiver fees, and medications continue to add up. Tommy will also be required to reside closer to the Mayo Clinic once he has his surgery, and take costly post-transplant, anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life. With the rising cost of healthcare, and his wife out of work as she cares for Tommy, they desperately need your help.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Tommy’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Thank you ahead of time for your prayers, support, generosity and kindness. Any donation amount, no matter how big or how small, is truly a gift to our family and one step closer to Tommy’s surgery. If there is any way you can help, it would truly be a blessing!
Gratefully,
Tommy’s loving Community and friends
