Matthew (Doug) Beatty’s life has taken a major turn. Matthew has undergone emergency bypass heart surgery, and we have been told by his doctors at the University of Virginia that he is in desperate need of a life-saving heart transplant.
Matthew is a loving, father of one brother, uncle, and good friend of many. He grew up in Kent, Ohio and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. He still has many relatives and friends that reside in that area. Matthew and his family now reside in Stephens City, Virginia where he was employed with Rand Construction. He has enjoyed his job as Superintendent and was working on the Chipotle Mexican Grills Projects. Due to his poor health he is no longer able to work and do many things that many of us take for granted.
Heart transplants are a blessing but the cost of them can be overwhelming. Even with insurance there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. There will need to be extra funds for co-pays, deductibles; travel and relocation at the time of transplant and Matthew will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. With your love, support and God’s blessings we hope to overcome this financial burden.
A fundraising campaign in Matthew’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, and are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
