Help Amber Israel Receive the Gift of a Second Chance ❤️

Over 20 years ago, my wife, Amber Israel, faced one of the biggest battles of her life when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Through incredible strength, determination, and the gift of a bone marrow transplant, Amber overcame leukemia and has been blessed with more than two decades of life since then.

Unfortunately, her journey didn’t end with the transplant.

Amber developed graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) as a complication of her bone marrow transplant. That condition has ultimately caused severe damage to her lungs, and today, Amber is facing another life-changing battle: she needs a lung transplant.

Through everything we have faced, God has been with us every step of the way. Looking back over Amber’s journey, we can see His blessings in so many moments—the people He has placed in our lives, the doctors and medical teams who have guided us, the opportunities we have been given, and the strength He has provided when we needed it most.

We are incredibly grateful for every step, every answered prayer, every door that has opened, and every bit of guidance God has given us along the way. We know we would not have made it this far without Him, and we continue to put our faith and trust in His plan as we face what comes next.

Right now, we are going through the extensive evaluation and approval process to get Amber placed on the lung transplant donor list. We are hopeful that she will be approved and placed on the list soon.

Once Amber receives her transplant, our lives will change dramatically. We will need to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida so she can receive the specialized care and monitoring she will need during the first months of her recovery.

I will also need to step away from work for approximately 2–3 months to be Amber’s primary caregiver. During that time, our household will face significant expenses while also dealing with travel, relocation, housing, medical-related costs, and the everyday expenses that come with being away from home during a transplant and recovery.

That is why we are humbly asking for your help.

Amber has already fought incredibly hard once. More than 20 years after beating leukemia, she is fighting once again for the chance to breathe freely and continue the life she has been blessed with.
