Life can change in an instant. Mine did when I suffered a spinal cord injury that left me paralyzed from the waist down. Since that day, nothing has been the same but I’ve refused to give up. I’ve undergone more than 15 surgeries, each one a step in a long and difficult journey. I continue to attend physical therapy three days a week, pushing my body and my spirit to keep moving forward. Every session is a reminder that progress may be slow, but hope is still alive. My goal is simple, yet life-changing: I want to regain as much independence as possible including the ability to drive again. Being able to drive would mean freedom, dignity, and a step closer to rebuilding my life. The financial burden of ongoing medical care, therapy, and adaptive equipment is overwhelming.
