Since Help Hope Live’s founding in 1983, a lot has changed!

From music to fashion to politics, the world looks different from 40 years ago. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the incredible financial burden left in the wake of a medical crisis.

The first year of care following a high-level spinal cord injury can cost up to $1.3 million. Required anti-rejection medications for transplant recipients can easily exceed $2,500 per month. Most of these expenses are not fully covered by insurance. Every year, Help Hope Live assists thousands of clients in raising millions of dollars to bridge the gap between what insurance covers and what they need to heal, live, and thrive. In 2023, our nonprofit provided $6.7 million in financial assistance to meet the unmet needs of 879 clients. None of this would be possible without your help.

Our founders, Dr. Jack and Patricia Kolff, saw the need for trusted medical fundraising in their community and took action. Now, because of you, Help Hope Live has spent the last 40 years expanding our services and resources and helping more than 20,000 families raise over $181 million to cover life-saving treatments and quality-of-life care and equipment.

Your generosity ensures each of our clients receives personalized, one-on-one fundraising support. You help us visit hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and disability community conferences, making sure that we’re accessible and available to anyone who needs our help.
