Baby Boy Smith (Due Date Dec 2026)
Beach City, TX
The Pulse of Promise
His heart is where this journey begins. His future is what we’re fighting for.
Baby Boy Smith is growing strong, happy, and eager to make his debut this December. We found out that when he does, his heart will need extraordinary care.
During pregnancy, Baby Smith was diagnosed with truncus arteriosus, a critical congenital heart defect. From his first days of life, he will require specialized cardiac care, including major heart surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital.
His first surgery will be one of the biggest moments of his young life.
But it will only be the beginning of his story.
As he grows, he will need specialized cardiac care and may need additional procedures and support along the way. We also want to be proactive about something just as important to his future: his development.
Our goal is not simply to get our son through his first heart surgery.
Our goal is to protect every possibility that comes after it.
Even with private core health insurance, a medical journey like his can bring significant expenses year after year, including insurance premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket medical costs, therapies, travel, equipment and services that will not be fully covered.
Our first fundraising goal is $75,000.
But Pulse of Promise is about far more than reaching a number.
It is about preserving choices for our son.
We want to protect the whole child, not just his heart. That means pursuing the best possible cardiac care and perioperative neuroprotection, protecting his brain, neurodevelopmental and physical development, providing early intervention and needed therapies, maintaining long-term developmental follow-up, and preserving access to leading specialists, second opinions, and emerging or advanced cardiac options throughout his journey.
We want to preserve the ability to say yes.
Yes to neurodevelopmental and physical development support.
Yes to physical, occupational, feeding, speech and language therapies when he needs them.
Yes to perioperative neuroprotection, early intervention and long-term developmental follow-up.
Yes to leading specialists, second opinions, and emerging or advanced cardiac options when they could make a meaningful difference.
His may be a lifelong medical journey.
But we want it to be a life full of possibility and promise.
That is Pulse of Promise.
This first fundraising goal is only the beginning. As Baby Smith grows and his needs become clearer, Pulse of Promise will grow with him.
Please consider making a donation to Help Hope Live in Baby Smith’s honor. Sharing his campaign with friends, family, colleagues and organizations that may want to help can make an enormous difference, too.
Thank you for helping us preserve every possibility for the little boy we cannot wait to meet.
His heart is where this journey begins. His future is what we’re fighting for.
